Absolutely nothing

Yesterday I spent the day singing this song to Anthony: "Hey, what are you good for? Absolutely nothing" because it seemed to be the theme of the day for us. We were trying to get everything ready to go on vacation and no matter what I tried to do, it seemed like I couldn't do it. Like I tried to do my laundry but couldn't because my dryer decided to break. Anthony tried to fix the dryer, but couldn't because all the part's stores were closed. I tried to clean the house but couldn't because Parker kept peeing his pants and I had to keep cleaning him up. Anthony thinks it is a sign that we shouldn't go. I think it is a sign that we should get the heck out of here before something serious happens.

Worst Idea Ever

Today I had Parker stand to pee. When it was happening I was reminded of an out of control fire hose. The result: pee all over the toilet and floor, toilet bowl spotless.

All that worrying for nothing

The surgery took about 15-30 minutes and Parker took it like a champ. He hasn't complained of any pain since he got home, I bet he just feels relieved to have all that pressure off his ears. Parker was back to his normal self not to long after he got home from the hospital.

One of Parkers favorite past times is copying me, when he copies me I often think to myself "Do I really look that silly?" Saturday he put mascara on his face and tried to curl his forehead. Despite what Parker thinks I choose to curl my eyelashes and then put a coat of mascara them, but he is welcome to think I do it his way.

Can't Sleep

Today is the big day, Parker is finally getting tubes in his ears. Anthony and Parker are at the hospital right now. I know it is just a routine surgery, but I feel like it is a big deal because it is my son getting put to sleep. I'll let you know how everything goes.

A little bit of Mexican

I am not exactly sure were Kenzie learned to do this, but I think she has a little bit of Mexican in her. She loves to lay around the house practicing rolling her R's.

Happy Father's Day

Anthony you are a great husband and father. The kids and I wanted to say we love you, here are some of the reasons why:
You can always make us laugh
You are a good snuggler
Drop dead sexy
Always there to help us in the hard times
Always willing to spend time with us
A good cook
Our protector
A hard worker
Willing to get your hands dirty to make sure we are taken care of
Always willing to help out around the house
And most of all you are so laid back and fun to hang out with, we all just want to be like you. Happy Father's Day.

Yeah for dads

Today is Father's Day so Anthony and I wanted to give a shout out to our dads and thank them for being so wonderful.

Dad you are so amazing. There are so many things I could write about lessons you have taught me and things I have learned by watching your example. I will never forget the hard work ethic you have instilled in me. Thanks for planting 100 tomato plants, and letting me help with the harvest. Thanks for building a house on a 1/2 acre lot and allowing me to cut the lawn every Saturday. Thanks for teaching me that although a cup may seem empty, "There is always a dribble". Thanks for wiring uncle Tom's house and letting me learn by your side. Thanks for fulfilling your church callings and teaching me how to be a faithful home teacher. Thanks for taking time out of your day to teach me and spend time with me. I will never forget the times we spent working on things together. I love you Dad.

Dad, although you are on a cruise right now and I know my blog isn't as high on your list as those all-you-can eat buffets, I just want you to know I think you are amazing. One reason I think you are amazing is because you have more integrity than 50 men combined. There are lots of memories I have to back that up, but I have always been impressed that you would never lie, talk bad about someone, or do anything bad to make yourself look good.

Ooh Parker

Today Parker made me laugh. I used the bathroom. When I came out Parker had a huge smile on his face and was clapping, he told me "yeah, mommy potty," I am so glad I can make him proud.

My new 3-5 day theory

I think I have found a secret to help me survive motherhood. I feel like if I can survive 3-5 days, of what may seem like pure torture, my kids eventually give up, give in, and move on with life. When I tried to get the kids to sleep through the night after about 5 sleepless nights full of screaming while the kids "cried it out" they were trained to sleep through the night. 3 tough days after Parkers binky was taken away he forgot about it. 3 days of not so fun potty training then on day 4 Parker tells me "mom poop, he then went to the bathroom and pooped and peed" I felt like giving up on day 3, but held strong and now my Parker wears underwear and stays dry almost all the time. I am not sure what the next milestone we will be trying to overcome, but 3-5 days later I am pretty sure the torture will be over. ***

***I would just like to say Parker still isn't 100% with the pottying in the toilet, unless I remind him he will forget to use the potty. I wanted him to be potty trained so bad though, I could care less if I have to clean up a mess every now and again.

Military Man

Anthony joined the Air Force. Much thought was put into this decision and we are very excited/nervous to see what our lives will be like after dental school. As everyone knows Anthony is very laid back and doesn't make a big deal of anything, this also applies to his swearing in ceremony. Anthony just wanted to get it over with so he had his friend Scott from dental school(who is an Officer in the Air Force) swear him in one day after school. The only requirements were: he has to be sworn in by an officer, and there has to be a flag present. If I hadn't guilt tripped him we wouldn't even have a picture. So here is the swearing in ceremony, congratulations Antonio'.

Parker's new shadow

I have become Parker's new shadow. I really, really, really, really want this kid to be potty trained. I am done with diapers, and determined to give it my all. If Parker is quiet for more than a minute I am on him like glue, with the potty in hand. He takes advantage of any opportunity when he knows he doesn't have my full attention, like if I answer the phone or change McKenzie's diaper he will find a little corner and do his thing. We are being fairly successful he has peed in the potty many times, pooping is a different story (I am sure you are all so interested to hear about my son's bodily functions). Anyways we still are working on the potty training but hopefully I will soon be able to blog about my success story. Although I am very determined I have to admit today he wore a diaper the whole day so we could have fun without having to worry about him peeing his pants.

If anyone is looking to move I would highly recommend Buffalo, the company is great and everyone throws their kids great parties. Parker's friend L.B. turned 2 and his parents threw him a great party. Here it the handsome man eating his cake.

Once again another jumpy thing, I love them.

Parker is getting so good he can now jump higher than his dad.

This is Parker and his friend Lorenzo. Lorenzo has the most gorgeous blue eyes, and when he wears this sweater the eyes are even more blue and he can melt any girls heart. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of him looking at me, so you will just have to take my word for it.
