Kaitlynn Halloween

Cutest elephant ever

Jackpot

The first thing the kids did when they walked in the door from trick-or-treating was sit down, dump out their bags and start eating. They were in heaven, all this candy for being cute.
I don't understand why it is so hard for my kids to look at me and smile for 3 seconds, but after many attempts I finally got a group shot.
The most adorable elephant ever:
our lovely lion
our cranky crocodile
Poor Parker is now sick. He took an extra long nap today, when I checked on him I found him exhausted and not feeling well. I asked him if he wanted to keep sleeping or go trick-or-treating, he looked at me with this tired face "mom I just going to sleep 5 more minutes, then I going to go trick-or-treating" after the medicine kicked in he had a huge smile as he ran from house to house.

Let the festivities begin

I love, love, love Halloween. I have been planning for the past month activities and crafts to keep my family celebrating the whole month. I was so excited Saturday morning as we got ready for a party at our mall:
Kenzie is a lion
Parker is an alligator
We didn't get a picture of Kaitlynn but she is the most adorable elephant I have ever seen.

My heart almost broke as we came home from the mall and Anthony had a fever and spent the rest of the day in bed. He was so kind to share his sickness with Kenzie and I figured I need to start preparing myself for a week of sleepless nights and fevers, instead of Halloween celebrations. However yesterday the pumpkin was carved (by Anthony and Parker wearing their "scary" teeth) and I think we are back on track to go to all the activities we have planned for the rest of the week.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we got to go to the Pumpkin Patch with some friends. The kids loved it. Here they are looking at the pumpkins:

They also enjoyed petting and feeding the animals:
Some lady let her kids lay down in the dirt/mud to feed the animals. Nasty if you ask me, but it looked like her kids enjoyed it.

Weston you better watch your back

Parker got his Halloween outfit (Crocodile) in the mail today. He can't wait to get together with Weston who is a pirate (Captain Hook) and finish up some unfinished business. Weston this video is for you.

He says "Now you got to watch your back. I am a alligator and I am going to eat you"

Kaitlynn's Photo Shoot

My friends from Ellemenopee Photography took these amazing pictures of Kaitlynn when she was one month old. I love all the pictures so it was so hard to pick a couple to put on my blog. This first picture is my favorite one because they caught her first smile on camera.

Kaitlynn's blessing

Today at church Anthony blessed our beautiful Kaitlynn. She is the most calm, easy going, happy baby I have ever met. It is an honor Heavenly Father trusted her to us.
Just in case you were wondering what time we took this picture it was at 2:59 p.m.

Rose

I learned that long stem roses are just about as tall as a 3 year old.

Slow to Anger

Saturday Anthony went to a meeting, when he came home I asked him what he learned. He told me he had learned everyone needs to be "slow to anger." I thought it was a good lesson that I can apply in my life so today I decided I am going to really focus on being slow to anger.

Turns out it was a great day to start this. This morning I gave the kids some paper and stuff to color in the kitchen. When I went to check on them I found Kenzie had taken her black marker and colored my garbage can, all over the kitchen floor and her pajamas. I remembered my goal and she didn't even get a raised voice from me as I cleaned up the mess.

Later in the day Parker was taking an especially long time to go to the bathroom. When I opened the door to check on him I found him holding the plunger and a new roll of toilet paper unraveled and on my bathroom floor. Turns out he had put to much toilet paper in the toilet(apparently the toilet can't handle a whole roll) and when he found the toilet wouldn't flush he then took every bit of toilet paper out of the toilet and placed it on the bathroom floor. He then began to plunge the toilet to make the water go down.

Later tonight Kenzie was awfully quiet so I went to check on her and found her taking all the Q-tips out of the container:
I have to admit with this one I didn't even begin to get angry. All I could do was laugh when I walked in and saw her with q-tips coming out of each ear combined with her super-sexy hair-do.

This being "slow to anger" really helped me have a good day despite all the trouble my curious kids get into.

Half Time

In the middle of making 73 quarts of applesauce everyone needed a break so we went for a walk to the creak by my sister's house.
The kids were in heaven they were allowed to get dirty, splash in water and throw rocks.
Kaitlynn just used the time to take a nature nap:
Jacob spent his time being jealous that he couldn't roll in the mud with the big kids:
Parker and Ben liked to make up fun games while throwing the rocks:
Angie only had to take 200 pictures before finally getting one of them all looking:

Kenzie is always ready for a photo shoot:

Next stop Applesauceville

Me and my sister had fun making applesauce together
It was a lot of work so we put the kids to work:
The kids put one apple at a time in the sink so we could wash them.  There goal was to make it splash enough to get me or my sister wet.

Ben and Parker were a good team at processing the applesauce.

Kaitlynn is only 2 months old but was still willing to help by inspecting all the apples for worms.

Every now and then the kids would take a break and eat the apples.
