Mason getting into trouble

I walked upstairs and found this kid eating sugar by the spoonful.  No wonder why he is so sweet.

If Aaron had one wish..........

his mouth would be bigger.  It frustrates him that he cannot fit both fists in his mouth at the same time.

Precious Moments

I never want to forget how sweet these two are.  At the young age of 7 McKenzie knows just what to do to calm down Aaron and help him fall asleep.

McKenzie is 7

This sweet girl turned 7 today:
To celebrate, she requested a cake pop cake and Mexican food for lunch.
McKenzie loves babies (real and toy), bunnies and eating anything chocolate.
She loves holding Aaron, changing his diaper, and giving him his binky when he is crying.
She gets straight A's in school.
She is a perfectionist.
Her perfectionism is good and bad.  Good because her side of the bedroom is immaculate, she does every chore without being asked, and always takes out the garbage or cleans up a spill if she notices it needs to be done.
Her perfectionism gets her into trouble because if she spells a word wrong, she will cry and be upset with herself.  If she could, she would live the Mosaic law: "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" is how this girl rolls.  If you wrong her, you better watch your back.

Sweet Aaron

This kid sure has added a lot of stress to my life, but I wouldn't change him for anything.

Mason

One of the best things about being a stay at home mom, is getting to be with this kid all day long.  I love his comments/questions and especially his outfits:

Aaron 3 Months

Could you be any more adorable?  Aaron, you are like a new baby.  You are happy and smile all the time.  You used to always be in pain with your reflux and lactose intolerance, so you were a screamer.  With your medicine and your moms lactose free diet you have showed us your happy sweet side.  You love to be held.  You can focus on objects.  You have a 6th sense.  You can tell when I enter the room.  If you are crying and I walk in the room you stop crying, and do something that is hard to describe, it is obvious you know the help you were seeking is coming.  You are partial to your binky, you much prefer to suck on your hands.  Your dark hair is slowly starting to fall out, it breaks my heart.  I love that you had your dad's dark brown hair when you were born.  He is a good man and I enjoyed being reminded of him every time I held you.  You like me mostly for my milk, you are a much better baby when anyone besides me holds you.  You now sleep in a pack'n'play in the laundry room.  You love your swing and being wrapped up super tight in your blanket to sleep.

Mason is 3

This adorable boy turned 3 today.
He requested a chocolate chip cookie cake:
Mason, you are a boy through and through.  I feel like you never stop moving and turn everything you touch into a weapon.  You can pedal a bike, pump a swing, and talk nonstop.  My favorite things you say are :
"That tastes delicious,"
"WHO'S THERE" (You yell this at the top of your lungs everytime the doorbell rings)
"What did you say?"

You are as stubborn as a mule.  If you don't like something you will hit, or yell, until someone backs down or you end up in time out.
Some days I wish you had a mute button.  This is a normal conversation we have during sacrament meeting:
Mason:  "Is it time for class?"(Spoken very loudly)
Kristie:  "Not yet."(whispered)
Mason:  "What did you say? Mom, say it louder." (Spoken even louder)
Kristie:  "Shhh"
Mason:  "What did you say?"  (Smiling, cause he knows it drives me crazy)
You drive me crazy and melt my heart everyday.  I wouldn't change one thing about you.

Crazy Kate

Kate tells me "Mom, I got the hook-ups."  Wondering who was nice enough to hook this girl up, I ask a couple questions.  Turns out she has the hiccups, not the hook-ups  She makes me laugh everyday:

Everyday this girls' socks don't match.  I have learned to accept it as Kate.  To be honest if they did match, it wouldn't fit her personality:

Veteran's Day Parade

The kids school had a great ceremony to celebrate Veterans.  A man spoke who was a P.O.W. for more than a year.  He spoke of his experience, and told the kids the best way they can honor Veterans is to be a good citizen.  I am so grateful for all those who served in the military and for this wonderful country I live in.  After the ceremony the kids all got to walk in a parade.

Cute Kenzie

Every time I see Kenzie wearing her Halloween jacket I have to laugh:
This jacket doesn't do her character justice.  She is so sweet and caring, she is not the monster she appears to be.

Aaron 2 months

2 Month Stats:
Weight: 12lbs 9oz
Height: 24 in
Head: 40 cm

Ooh Aaron, I am so glad October is over.  It was a tough month for both of us.  You started out the month in the hospital.  I took you the the ER because you had a high fever.  The lab results showed  lots of white blood cells in your spinal fluid, the doctor admitted you right then.  About a week after you were discharged we found out you have reflux, and are lactose intolerant.  We found out these things because it is a normal thing for you to scream and be inconsolable.  It is obvious you are in  pain.  Anyone who is near you always comments they can hear you stomach churning.  It is so sad to see you in so much pain.  I stopped eating dairy and we always have you sleep with you head elevated, these things seem to make life a lot less painful for you.  Other than all these crazy things going on, you are amazing.  You are very strong and have good control of your head.  You are very alert and can focus on objects.  You smile and are already trying to roll onto your side.  When you aren't in pain you are full of smiles and love to babble.  You are adorable and loved by everyone.

The joys of parenting an 8 year old boy

This is the face he shows when asked to smile for a picture:
This is a normal comment from him:  "Sometimes when I don't eat enough for breakfast I just catch grasshoppers and eat them while I am waiting at the bus stop."  I love that he said this like it is perfectly normal to eat grasshoppers.

Aaron's Hospital Stay

At 5 weeks old this adorable baby got a fever of 102.4 (very scary for a baby this age).  I took him to the hospital.  They took his blood, put an I.V. in, took a chest x-ray, and did a spinal tap.  The spinal tap showed a very high white count, indicating an infection.  He was admitted for 2 days, after 3 doses of IV antibiotics he was able to go home.  Just as quickly as he got sick, he got better.  Isn't that the cutest frown you have ever seen?  It shows what he thought about his hospital stay:
Smallest I.V. I have ever seen:
We are so blessed to have him home healthy and happy.

Kate

Kate got to bring home her class Mickey over the weekend.  She earned the privilege by being well behaved in class:

Tired little guy

Mason came to visit Aaron in the hospital.  Now that mom is gone (I won't leave the hospital until Aaron does) Mason spends his days at friends and doesn't have to nap.  It appears to me he is running and playing hard with all the play dates.
