6 Months

Life as I know it just got a lot busier because this 6 month old is mobile.  He doesn't crawl but he somehow scoots from one end of the room to the other.
He loves his feet.  He likes to lay on his back and play with his toes.
He can sit unassisted anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds at a time.
He puts EVERYTHING he can get  his hands on in his mouth.
He loves food and eats everything we give him.
He likes to be held but prefers being on the ground so he can explore.
He is a noisy baby always babbling and laughing.
He doesn't hold still long, so changing his diaper is getting tricky.
If he is sad all I have to do is make eye contact with him and smile.  He instantly gives his toothless grin followed by a deep, from the belly laugh.  He is adorable.

Military Perks

Yesterday I got to fly in a V-22 Osprey.  It is half plane half helicopter and lots of fun to ride in.
I got to land and take off in airplane mode and helicopter mode.
My flight attendant didn't offer me any drinks or snacks but he did offer me security.  He spent the flight ready to protect us with a huge gun.
The back door was kept open the whole flight, I had a great view of the Ocean.

Pictures

The only time I can ever get all 3 kids to look and smile at the camera is if I want them to leave me alone so I can take pictures of Mason.

Kenzie's Corelle Challenge

This dinnerware set was worth every dollar we spent on it.  The other day Kenzie dropped 4 plates onto my tile floor.  As I surveyed the damage there was not one break, crack or even a chip on my plates.  These plates are amazing.

Fun Friday

I donated a bunch of toys the kids don't use anymore(without telling the kids) to Parker's Kindergarten teacher's "Prize Box".  "I am mad at you Mom."  Were the first words Parker said to me when he got home from school.  Today he got to pick from the prize box and was surprised to see a bunch of his toys.  He could actually name at least 6 of the toys I donated, I was laughing so hard.  I finally got him to admit he hadn't used the toys in a long time, but I am still in trouble with him.  I wish he would send me to time out for my bad behavior, what I wouldn't give for 31 minutes of peace and quiet in my room.

Mason 5 Months

At 5 months Mason weighs 15 lbs and is 26 inches tall
He is cute as can be, full of laughs, giggles, and smiles.  He is so easy and laid back, sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have a baby that is so low maintenance.  Today he decided to remind me that I take for granted how easy it is to care for him.  When I was changing his diaper he yelled "fire in the hole" then proceeded to pee everywhere in a 5 foot radius (okay he can't talk yet, but I am sure he thought it)

His favorite place to be is on the ground.  He can now scoot to objects that appeal to him.

He eats rice cereal and puréed food.

He only drinks bottles (my body isn't making enough milk to keep him happy so he gets a combo of breast and bottle milk).

He sleeps 13 hours a night and takes 2-3 naps during the day.

He is getting coordinated enough to hold a bottle and can put his binky in his mouth the right way:
I hate teaching my kids how to swallow food.  Thanks to Anthony who taught Mason how to eat rice cereal.

My friend Nia took some adorable pictures of my girls while they were playing at her house.  She captured Kaitlynn perfectly.  I always want to remember Kaitlynn's beautiful curly hair, cute dimple and the gap in her front teeth.

I always want to remember how sweet and adorable Kenzie is.  She has the most genuine laugh that comes with her little smile and is always trying to make me proud.  I hope these girls always stay best friends.
