What has kept us busy

We have done a couple random things this past month:

After Parker was caught "tagging" our couch, he had his first taste of community service. His dad caught him in the act, but had he not been caught in the act it still would have been easy to find the guilty person. Parker "tagged" the couch with many "P's" in an attempt to spell his name.
Every now and then the weather breaks 40 degrees and the kids get to go outside and play.

Anthony took the kids snow-boarding.

I got daring and let the kids paint.

Last but not least my hero saved a spoon from the heater vent. It took me 4 years of marriage to move up in the world and not have to have 3 different sets of silverware to feed 12 people. My heart stopped beating for a minute when I heard Kenzie drop one of my precious spoons down the heater vent. The heater vents in this house are all built into the wall and can not be taken off. Lucky for me I married an amazing man who was creative enough to bend a hanger in such a way that the spoon was saved.

Poor Anthony

My wonderful husband turned 29 on Monday. All he got was a sick family and a couple I.O.U.'s (For the record I had arranged to surprise Anthony with Dinner for 2 at a nice restaurant) but Parker got pink eye so we couldn't go anywhere. You are a wonderful husband and father Happy Birthday. We love you.

I'm thinking

Last night Parker was sitting on the toilet and Anthony heard him saying "hummmm." Anthony walks in the bathroom and sees Parker looking intently with his chin resting on his fist and asks Parker what he is doing Parker looks at him and says "I'm thinking."
He is such a crack up, when did he start thinking, and where did he learn to put his hand on his chin while he thinks?

Sister Lord

My friend Sister Lord has no family close by and neither do we, so shortly after moving to Buffalo we have become family. I invited Sister Lord over for dinner tonight and she came with birthday presents. She bought Parker the biggest stuffed Lion I have ever seen. Parker loves it.
She got Kenzie a baby doll.

Parker requested a dinosaur cake for the night.

Parker turned 3 today

Today we celebrated Parker being 3 years old (his birthday really isn't until Tuesday), but a kid should only get this spoiled once a year so today was the day. We had a party with 4 of his friends. It was a great day we had lunch, opened presents, then let the kids run wild with all the toys and balloons.
The kids loved the bubble blower.

Our friend Jessee made an amazing cake for Parker, the theme was Cars (one of Parker's favorite movies). It turned out great and each of the kids got their own car to eat. Parker loved it.
Then thanks to Red Robin's B-day club and Coldstone's b-day club, dinner and desert were on them. He is now staying up late watching his new movie from Ciella. I think it is safe to say, this so far, has been the best day of his life, he has been spoiled rotten.

Our $20 gift card for $60

A local gas station has a great deal: For $30 they will give you 3 car washes(worth $8 each) and a $20 gift certificate to Applebee's. Seeing an opportunity for a cheap date we bought it.

Try #1: We went to Applebees that night to use the gift card. Turns out the items we bought were not able to count for the $20 deal. Dang, we payed for the meal and left the restaurant with our gift card.

Try #2: Valentine's day I thought to myself we have a free meal at Applebee's, we might as well go out to lunch since it is the day of love. Unfortunately the card wasn't redeemable on Valentine's day so once again we paid for the meal and left the restaurant with our gift card.

Try #3: Last night we dropped the kids off at our friends and headed to Applebee's for one last try. (Anthony and I were both in agreement on the way to the restaurant if we couldn't redeem it tonight, we would then give the gift card away). We were finally able to redeem the card, however, it was the longest wait we have ever had to be seated, and to be feed. To top it off both Anthony and I were sick within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant. Although the gas station deal has treated many of our friends to a cheap meal Anthony and I will never be buying that again.

Although the gift card to Applebee's didn't treat us very good, the car washes made the car look great.
