The US Open

After just over 30 years of living I finally was able to go to the event of a lifetime. The US Open tennis tournament in Flushing Meadows, New York. My dad was also able to join me.

Here we are visiting Lady Liberty the day before the finals match.
If you followed the US Open you know that there were two rain delays. Here we are just getting back to the stadium after Monday's rain delay. One delay canceled the finals match for the day and the match was not played until Monday. This is the third year in a row the finals match has been delayed due to rain.
Here we are in Luis Armstrong stadium ready to watch the woman's doubles final just prior to the down-pour of rain that delayed the match until Monday.

Here is a shot of Rafael Nadal, the number 1 player in the world serving to Novak Djokovic the then number 2 player in the world. It doesn't happen very often that the number 1 and number 2 players in the world play each other in a finals match at the US Open. It was an awesome match to watch. The only set Nadal lost the entire tournament was the second set of the finals match.

A shot of Nadal on the jumbo-tron accepting his first US Open title.
